1.5 ounce reposado
1/2 ounce mezcal
1 bar spoon agave syrup or simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnishes:
Orange peel (extra if you want to flame it!)
Directions:
In a cocktail mixing glass (I'm using this one: https://amzn.to/3jSJSTC) add in 1.5 ounces of reposado, 1/2 ounce of mezcal, 1 bar spoon (or a teaspoon) of agave or simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Add ice and stir it up with a bar spoon
Choose an old-fashioned glass, and add 1 large cube of ice.
With a strainer pour the cocktail into your glass
You can flame your orange over your glass. (example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLo1nNYTb4E) or peel part of the orange, twist it to give the cocktail orange zest on top, glide the orange peel around the rim of the class and finally place the garnish into your cocktail.
With a smoker box or individual smoking cup, smoke your cocktail.
Take it out once it is smokey enough for your liking, sip, and enjoy!
